| AFTER ACTION REPORT SONESTOWN HERITAGE DAYS 2010
We drove up Friday night and stayed at my Dad's
cabin. After breakfast in Muncy Valley, we set up our displays on Jack
Craft's property. There was a small parade that we marched in to open the
event. Jack Craft and his wife Debbie treated us to lunch. We took turns
viewing the museum so that someone was always watching our displays. We met
several WWII vets that were stationed in the back of the museum at a table to
talk to visitors and sign autographs.
We set up a small skirmish in the afternoon where
we had 3 Germans hiding in the old barn waiting for the American patrol.
After the Germans opened up on the unsuspecting US force, Jack Craft came to
the rescue in his jeep with Paul Madiara operating the .30 cal., giving
covering fire. Mark Genowitz sent a rifle grenade right into the open door of
the barn loft, knocking out the machine gun,, on his first shot!
On the negative side, this may be the last time
Jack Craft will have a living history timeline at a Heritage Days Event.
Several reenactors committed to attend, but never showed up and never notified
Jack. However, the Big Red One made a good showing of which Jack was very
appreciative of.
